There are multiple types of editing options for you to choose from. If you have additional questions, please be sure to reach out to me via the contact form.  

I accept fiction works only, and will not edit non-fiction of any kind, nor will I edit books of poetry. I apologize for excluding these specific categories, but I do not feel I would be the best editor for your non-fiction or poetic works.

As a young adult author who also writes erotic romance under a pen name, I am open to just about anything, but my experience definitely lies in the romance genre. 

My tastes range from (including but not limited to) contemporary romance, erotica, light fantasy, horror/suspense, urban fantasy, light sci/fi, steampunk, and the OCCASIONAL *gripping* historical fiction. 

With that said, I am probably not the best option for highly religious fiction or Amish-related works.

My turnaround time for 2019 is ten business days, though rush edits are available for an additional fee and on a case-by-case basis only.

• Option #1: Submission Package Critique

You've written a book! You've hired an editor. You've *somehow* survived the revision process. You found an amazing proofreader who caught that one wayward there/their/they're mishap. And now... you're ready to query! 
And you're scared. I get it. This is an exciting and terrifying time for all writers, but I can help you at least alleviate some of the stress with my Submission Package Critique. 
As a former acquisitions editor,  as well as the creator and co-host of the #PitchMAS online writing contest, I will give your submission packet a good once-over, and point out anything that I feel you should change or embellish, drawing from my knowledge of both sides of the querying lines. This is a great choice for someone who is ready to query, but not quite sure that they’ve put their absolute best foot forward.
I will evaluate your query, first three chapters, and (optional) synopsis for a flat fee.
This package does not include a second pass. 

Submission Package Critique Rate: $75.00 flat rate

• Option #2: Proofread

Proofreading is a vital piece of the writing process... that final step before publication. Proofreading is done on a final draft. If you have not had your manuscript edited, please do that first. 
After you have worked with an editor and your manuscript is fully edited and ready to take book shape, I will read your manuscript for any issues in the following areas: grammar, punctuation, spelling and consistency (these are things that even the most thorough editor might miss once they’ve worked so carefully with a manuscript). 
This option is available for anyone who has already worked with an editor and would like a thorough proofread. Please do not think you can skip the editing process and jump right into proofreading. This will just result in me sending your manuscript back to you (minus a service fee for my time). 
I will read the manuscript for typos or inconsistencies, as well as provide feedback on any major plot holes or issues. I will not edit the manuscript further than a thorough proofread, but I will, however, never ignore any major questions that arise, as that isn’t fair to you or your audience. Should you choose to hire me to edit/address any issues that arise during a proofread, the proofreading fee will be knocked off the price of the editing option you choose.
This package does not include a second pass. 

Proofreading Rate: For short stories and novellas under 40,000 words, the price is a fixed flat rate of $50.00
Otherwise, the proofreading rate is $0.0015 per word, rounded up to the nearest dollar. 

(For example, an 80k word manuscript would be 80,000 x $0.0015 = $120.00)

PLEASE NOTE: Must be paid in full in advance.
Manuscripts with significant errors in the first three chapters will be returned unfinished along with the proofreading rate minus a 25% fee. Please keep that in mind and only send your edited manuscript to me for proofreading purposes.

• Option #3: Basic Edit

For the Basic Edit, I will thoroughly read your manuscript one time, paying close attention to character consistency, timelines, plot, concept, tense, and overall prose. I will advise you on all aspects of your story, from character arcs to point of view, any plot holes or timeline mistakes, and overall general feel of the story. At the end of this editing option, I will send you an in-depth response addressing all issues I found within. 
This option does not necessarily include in-line notes and comments within the manuscript itself, but you will receive a long letter with feedback and points I want you to address. 
(This editing package might include a second pass--to be decided on a case by case basis.)

Basic Edit - Rate:
Novellas up to 20,000 words: $150.00

20,001 - 40,000 words or less: $225.00
40,001 - 60,000 words: $300.00 

60,001 - 80,000 words: $375.00

80,001 - 100,000 words: $450.00 

Payments: I will accept full payment up front, but should I be unable to edit your manuscript for whatever reason, I will refund your money, less 25% for my time. This will always be discussed and agreed upon mutually. If you are unhappy, please don't hesitate to speak up. Editing is a TWO WAY STREET. 

• Option #4: Comprehensive Edit

The Comprehensive Edit is an extremely collaborative and comprehensive approach to the revision process, where you and I will work hand in hand to really bring your manuscript to its highest potential. It is a two part process.
On top of the smaller things like plot holes and consistency included in the Basic Edit above, I will thoroughly read your manuscript one time, paying close attention to character consistency, timelines, plot, concept, tense, world-building, and overall prose. I will advise you on all aspects of your story, from character arcs to point of view, any plot holes or timeline mistakes, as well as line by line editing of typos, inconsistencies, misuse of words, etc., and notes and corrections will be included within the manuscript itself, in addition to anything I might also include in a lengthy email.
Once you have applied all of my editing suggestions, I will go through a second time and address any remaining or new issues. 
(This editing package include a second pass.)

Comprehensive Edit - Rate: $0.02 per word. For example, manuscripts that are 80,000 words will cost $1,600.00. 

Payments: I will accept full payment up front, but should I be unable to edit your manuscript for whatever reason, I will refund your money, less 25% for my time. This will always be discussed and agreed upon mutually. If you are unhappy, please don't hesitate to speak up. Editing is a TWO WAY STREET.
